John Amis holds the position of Chair in Strategic Management & Organisation at the University of Edinburgh where he is also Co-Director of the Centre for Strategic Leadership. His research, largely centring on issues of organizational, institutional and societal change, has been published in leading journals that include Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Annals, American Journal of Public Health, Human Relations, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science and Organization Studies.
