Samantha Parsley is Professor in Organization Studies at University of Portsmouth, UK and has been researching the career experiences of electronic music artists as creative labour for several years. Under her previous family name of Warren, she is best known for her work on visual and sensory methodologies and is interested in conceptual, methodological and empirical interplays between aesthetics and organizational processes, for example the nexus of work and play that occurs in the unusual occupation of DJing. Most recently she has been investigating gender inequality in electronic music and is a Co-Chair of the Association for Electronic Music, a leading trade association.
